Welcome to BGS Yorkshire.
Yorkshire (also known as God's own country!) is the largest county in the UK and is subdivided into 4 areas; North, East Riding, South and West Yorkshire.
The population in Yorkshire is diverse due to the cultural variety and blend of rural and urban communities with older people making up about one fifth of the population. The range of hospitals reflects this variety with large university teaching hospitals and smaller community hospitals. The region is innovative in terms of community geriatrics with the Integrated Care Centre in Hull and well-established virtual frailty wards across the region. We are also at the forefront of elderly medicine research with the frailty work that has been done in Bradford at NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Yorkshire and Humber.
We are an enthusiastic group of professionals with the shared goal of improving the care delivered to older people in our community.
