BGS Special Interest Groups (SIGs) represent a range of sub-specialisms within geriatric medicine, from anaemia to community geriatrics. They serve as the Society’s source of clinical innovation, advocating for and delivering high standards of clinical care, and disseminating specialist knowledge.
Many SIGs hold their own annual scientific meetings or feature in parallel sessions at the British Geriatrics Society’s main UK meetings. They also contribute their expertise to BGS responses to government consultation documents, as well as producing and contributing to guidelines and policy statements.
Our SIG members include physicians, clinicians, scientists and allied health professionals both from within and outside of the BGS. To join or leave a SIG, visit your profile, or click the button on the relevant SIG page.
