Joint BGS, Macmillan and RCR OncoGeriatrics Meeting 2019

This meeting has applied for 15 credits of live CPD credit (expires 30 May 2021) and 15 credits Distance learning CPD accreditation (expires 30 April 2022) from the Royal College of Physicians (RCP)

This event is intended for clinicians and healthcare professionals working with older people with cancer. The two days will include keynote presentations from experts in the field, workshops and plenary sessions demonstrating best practice approaches available. We hope you will make contacts and start collaborations which will continue on from this meeting.

  • Nurses and allied health care professionals in oncology, geriatric medicine, palliative care, general medicine

Conference aims:

  • To bring three organisations together (BGS, RCR and Macmillan) with a unified approach to developing workforce skills around cancer for older people.
  • To provide training and education for healthcare professionals to improve comprehensive clinical care for older people with cancer
  • To facilitate joint understanding between groups of HCPs with different areas of expertise to improve knowledge and multidisciplinary working

Please read the instructions below before preparing your abstract. 
Your abstract must include: 
• A title 
• Names of authors (presenting author to be underlined) 
• Provenance (i.e. place of work) 
• Contact details (including telephone number, fax number and email address) The abstract text should be no longer than 300 words and must be in English. Where possible, please use the four standard sub-headings of: 

Introduction, 
Method, 
Results and 
Conclusion(s).

All abstracts are considered by a scientific committee. 

The results of adjudication will be notified to first named authors within two weeks of the closing date.
