Accommodation
*Please be aware of fradulent emails or providers offering accommodation booking services. Follow good practice in identifying if contact is legitimate. Travel Housing is not affiliated with the BGS
Accommodation in recent years has increased in costs and this year keeping costs low is important. Study leave budgets are always under pressure and never seem to go far enough.
BGS have identified hotels near the Vox conference centre, which are low-cost.
Click here to see available options and rates
Other sites and booking directly with the hotels may be cheaper - please do shop around.
The most affordable hotels are located in Birmingham City Centre and a short walk to Birmingham New Street Station. From here delegates can catch a direct train to the NEC train station.
These rates are variable so please do book soon to avoid disappointment. These hotels have a cancellation window of 24 hours before the meeting (please double check!) so book your accommodation now.
- IBIS Birmingham New Street (4 min walk to New Street Station)
- IBIS Budget Birmingham around (12 min walk to New St Station)
- Holiday Inn Express Birmingham Snow Hill (12 min walk to New St Station )
- PentaHotel Birmingham (12 min walk to New St Station)
Upon searching, hotels will appear in an ascending order and show the hotels with the best rates first despite distance to the VOX. While not as convenient as staying on site it's hopefully much more affordable, and offers evenings in Birmingham City centre.
BGS members can find preferential rates at Hotels by Hilton by following the details below.

CPD accreditation for On Demand Attendance
Participants watching a live event online via the BGS platform must log their attendance on the day, and each subsequent day, to record attendance. A button is prominently displayed under the media player stating "Sign in for CPD today"
We discourage joining online on phones or small tablets.
If participants join live using a shared work account or viewing as a group they must contact us before the end of the live event to record attendance. This should be by email with their full name, email address and place of work to registrations@bgs.org.uk. Participants must register before the live event starts to claim CPD credits.
We cannot send CPD certificates to participants who haven't registered in advance, or those who watch after the live broadcast.
Participants accessing the archived version of the webinar may record this in their CPD diary using the approval code provided for the live event for up to four weeks after the event date. Further information about CPD can be found here, or here via the Federation of Colleges CPD site
If watching within 4 weeks of the live broadcast you can claim live CPD using the codes available on the RCP CPD diary or emailed to attendees.
After 4 weeks this will be classed by the RCP as distance learning and will be assigned a distance learning code and can be added to the diary as usual distance learning activities would be.
