Dr Robert (Bob) Barber - Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist and Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer, Newcastle University

 

Dr Barber is an Old Age Psychiatrist based in Newcastle and has a special interest in clinical trials in Alzheimer’s Dementia. He is speciality lead for Dendron in the North east and Training Program Director for Old Age Psychiatry.

Liberty Protection Safeguards

Sharon Thompson - Designated Nurse Safeguarding Adults, South Tyneside CCG

Sharon has worked within the NHS in both mental health and acute health providers and Clinical Commissioning for over 36 years. She welcomed the Mental Capacity Act 2005, (MC(Amendment)A 2019) with its strength based in human rights, she was one of the first emerging Mental Capacity Act leads in an Acute health Trust  and became a Best interests Assessor for Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
