Abstract: Dizziness and balance disorders are the commonest reasons patients over the age of 75 visit their GP. Yet balance and falls services remained stretched in secondary and tertiary care, with patients often passing through a number of clinics before receiving treatment, if they are lucky enough to be referred in the first place. In this talk I will describe recent developments that offer new “easy wins” for your patients with BPPV; describe the nature of relatively recently defined and common entity causing chronic dizziness, PPPD; and explore vestibular migraine, often the metaphorical elephant in the balance clinic room.
